Testimonials...

Very, very musical!
Before this adventure with Morrow Audio, I had never heard speaker cables make such a difference. ICs, yes; PCs, yes; but not speaker cables. Your work, Mike, makes speaker cables vital, absolutely vital to the experience of listening to recorded music.

These SP4s are very detailed and revelatory, very realistic in presentation, and very, very musical. The placement of voices and instrumentation is "visually" very accurate, but  not  sharp and intrusive and distracting. The space around the voices and instruments is wonderful.

UPDATE:
I am just stunned... I've been working on my student's written work all day, listening to whatever the computer queues up in its playback through the DAC. So often this morning and early afternoon, I've heard jaw-dropping detail and musicality in a remarkable balance.

Just a few moments ago, I heard the palm on the drumhead... never heard that before in that particular bit of music. Literally, the musical sound-texture of a human hand on the drumhead leather... I've heard that detail before, but not to the palpable complexity of texture and detail, the contribution these make to the musical experience that the SP4s bring.

Oh well, you must get tired of these rants and ravings from others and me about these cables. I bet sometimes you want to make a cable that shuts us up, renders us mute (as Medusa turned warriors to stone) (as Odysseus must have been, listening to the Sirens... no more banal blabbing, just all ear), giving you some space to do your work!

UPDATE 2:
Well, it's just amazing to listen to this system, which I know inside and out, over all kinds of music and types of instrumentation, some quite exotic by western standards, and to be surprised and literally awed.

Today I heard a vocalist, Hamza el Din, in the audio space created by the SP4s & MA4's. This came in a way I've never heard him before.

Literally, my experience was as if he were in my listening room singing and playing... the sense of voice and space, a human presence, Hamza el Din! Sadly, he has passed away. My experience this afternoon was as if he returned to sing and play in my listening room. Now this, especially while I was working, I have never, ever experienced in audio. It was very much like a front row experience at a small, intimate concert. Such things are just very, very unusual in my world." Ed

What Cables Should I Upgrade First?

We recommend starting with the source components, working your way to the speakers. After that, start upgrading the power cords. As a detailed example, start first by replacing a source cable, like from a CD player to preamplifier. Next replace the cables from the preamp to power amp. Idealy, if finaces allow, replace these two together to have our cables in your system from source to power amplifier. Next, replace the speaker cables, then start upgrading the power cords, starting again with the source components. Replacing your cables in this order will realize the greatest sonic improvements and enjoyment as you complete each step.

The Equipment We Use To Evaluate Our Cables:

Designing and building cables is a tricky business, requiring just the right balance of gauge, wire type and dielectric. It would be foolish to test our designs on a mediocre system. At Morrow Audio, we have only the best in our listening/ testing room, insuring that whatever system our cables go into, that they should provide great satisfaction and musicality! You can see our listening room here.

Product Full Description

The SP4 Reference consist of a certain number of multiple runs of solid core, small gauge, silver coated copper wire which is then silver soldered to the termination of choice. There are two different gauges of wire used in the SP4, allowing a greater continuity of low and high frequencies. This wire has been chosen for the excellent balance of sound that it provides. The SP4 has an attractive appearance and possess excellent RFI and noise rejection. The cable is very flexible and easily managed.

What Are the Differences Between Models?

The basic differences between models are the number of wires within the cable structure. As you move up the line, the greater number of wires allow a likewise greater amount of subtleties and details to come through. The soundstage and separation of instruments within that stage also increase.

Runs of wire within the cable structure
SP1 12 runs of wire
SP2 16 runs of wire
SP3 24 runs of wire
SP4 Reference 48 runs of wire
SP5 Grand Reference 72 runs of wire
SP6 Grand Reference 96 runs of wire
SP7 Grand Reference 120 runs of wire

The SP2 through SP7 speaker cables contain two different gauges of wire to better carry the high and low frequencies. The SP5 through SP7 also include our optional free break-in service.

The reference and grand reference series require a tremendous amount of labor to build. Despite this we have continued to keep the cost down as far as possible, offering great value as well as an unforgettable musical experience.

Cables are offered in standard and bi-wired versions. Cables are the same price up to 2 meters. Other lengths are selectable in the shopping cart.

For the standard as well as the bi-wired version, the legs of the cable are split 6 inches down from the main body to allow ease of connection to amplifier and speakers. Longer end separations, if desired, can be requested in the special notes area of the shopping cart.

The bi-wired version consist of a single pair of terminations on the amplifier end and two pairs of color coded terminations at the speaker end for the highs and lows. Hookup instructions are provided.

Termination options are Spade, Banana and Nude. Combination terminations are also available and are selected in the shopping cart. Nude is the recommended choice for the best sound, then banana, then spade. The excellent Furutech banana and spade connectors are offered as an upgrade.
