a functional and effective diffraction treatment.

 

The view from the center listening chair. A sight to behold! The bowed out area behind the speakers are made from a set of bi-fold closet doors, as well as the ceiling treatment. The sound is reflected to the side walls where they are diffracted by the home made diffraction panels. There are floor to ceiling bass traps in the corners as seen behind the speakers. The room is very balanced, resulting in a flat 20 to 20Khz response from the center listening chair. The speakers are about 12 feet from the front of them to the ears of the listener.

 

Power distribution by Weizhi PRS-6 ($3200.00) and Morrow Audio MAP3 power cords.

 

Coincident "Dragon" 211 PP mono blocks, running the bass drivers.

 

Center amplifiers are the Coincident "Frankenstein" mono blocks, running the mid's and highs.

 

Here you can see more details for the ceiling treatment, made from bi-fold closet doors. Some of them have carpet padding on the upward side.
